Project One: Experience Enrichment

Icerush is a stainless steel hand tool designed to cruch ice for making cocktails. The size and shape of the design allows for the user to crush ice inside a generic cocktail shaker, before the other ingredients are added.
The design is easy, simple and fun to use. The shape and size of the handle is easy to grip and comfortable to hold whilst crushing ice. The unique shape at the base of the crusher allows for ice to move to the edges while whole pieces of uncrushed ice can remain centered for easier and more effective crushing.
The target audience of Icerush are females aged between 20-35 years, who enjoy entertaining. For the out-of-home female who loves to get dressed up and entertain in a classy manner.
Referring back to the brief, the Icerush product design promotes a pleasurable living relationship with the user, as it makes the experience of making cocktails easier, and therefore more enjoyable. The process of crushing ice creates a feeling of gratification, as the user is able to achieve a 'smarter cocktail' through the use of this product. The shape of the handle is large and easy to grip, making the ice-crushing experience comfortable, where the hand is not stressed by the repetative action.

  1. Your whole design and all your posters are beautiful you've done everything really well theres nothing i can criticise about the design. Only thing i don't like is the way that you have written 'icerush' on the pleasure analysis, the whole poster looks beautiful i just think that writting looks a bit out of place thats all, mite look better without the white box behind it? But thats really just a minor detail and everything you have done looks really good.

  2. Wow what a great design! I think that it works extreamly well with other products used in cocktail making, it looks like it could already be a product. I think that aswell as a great design you have really done an exalent job with the actual making of the model aswell from what I can tell from the pictures. My only thing I could possibly suggest is that there could be some more labelling and dimensions on the technical drawing just to communicate the design better, but really overall fantastic job!

  4. This is a very interesting design, with a very well made model. Just one thought, that it might be a bit chumky for the attended market, not sure if it could have been slimmer or more organic. I still love it!!

  5. Nice design, i think its a very clever idea and suitable for your target market maybe by adding a non-slip grip on the handle could make crushing ice easier, but overall i like it!!

I really like this design. i think it is very suited to your target market. i love the use of simple line in almost a silohuete outline which makes this product aesthetically pleasing! and i love how it looks similar to a martini shaker, which means it will integrate well with other bar products. Overall i think you have done really well!! welldone
